Chancellor Gordon Brown has announced a package of debt relief for the developing world after agreement was reached by the G8 finance ministers in London.

The Prime Minister has helped to mark the Queen's birthday by holding a reception in Downing Street.

Her Majesty The Queen is pleased to appoint Terry Wogan as an honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in recognition for his services to broadcasting.   

Tony Blair has held talks in Downing Street with the president of the European Parliament, Josep Borrell.

With 500 awards for people who work in the voluntary service, this year's birthday honours list pays tribute to 'outstanding achievement and service right across the community.'
