At 11.52am Humber Coastguard received a 999 call from the distressed owners of a dog reporting that their animal had gone over the cliff at Browns Point near Seaton Sluice.
At 9.40am Clyde Coastguard received a report from Caledonian MacBrayne ferries stating that the MV Isle of Arran had been in collision with the pier at Kennacraig, West Loch Tarbert in Argyll.
