These Regulations amend the Civil Service (Other Crown Servants) Pension Scheme Regulations 2016 (the 2016 Regulations) (SI 2016/326). The 2016 Regulations established a scheme for the payment of pensions and other benefits to civil servants employed by the Secret Intelligence Service and the Security Service.
This Order amends the British Nationality Act 1981 (c. 61) (“the 1981 Actâ€) to remove incompatibilities with a right under the European Convention of Human Rights.
These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of, and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) to amend legislation in consequence of the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union.
