This Order amends section 246 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (c. 44) (“the 2003 Act”).
Part 2 of the Terrorism Act 2000 (c. 11) makes provision about proscribed organisations (including setting out offences in relation to such organisations in sections 11 to 13). An organisation is proscribed if it is listed in Schedule 2 to that Act or, in most cases, if it operates under the same name as an organisation so listed (section 3(1)). Article 2 of this Order removes the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group from the list in Schedule 2, so that the organisation is no longer proscribed.
These Regulations make various amendments to the Insolvency (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (“the principal Regulations”). The principal Regulations (which, with limited exceptions, come into force on exit day) address deficiencies in retained EU law that will arise from the absence of mutual application of the EU Regulation on insolvency proceedings (Regulation (EU) 2015/848) (“the EUIR”).
Article 2 of this Order amends Schedule 1 of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (c. 10). It makes provision for separated children to be eligible for legal aid for civil legal services in relation to the grant of entry clearance, leave to enter or leave to remain in the United Kingdom (whether under or outside of the immigration rules), applications made by separated children outside of the immigration rules for the grant of leave to remain in the United Kingdom, and applications for registration as a British citizen, as a British overseas territories citizen, as a British Overseas citizen or as a British subject.
These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under section 8(2)(a) to (d) and (g)) arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.
These Regulations provide for the managed migration of the first 10,000 claimants from existing benefits to universal credit. They set out the process for moving those claimants, the circumstances in which transitional protection is given and the manner in which it is calculated. They also include provision in relation to certain claimants who were entitled to a severe disability premium, claimants who are self-employed and claimants in hardship as a result of managed migration.
This Order provides for the conferral of certain adult education functions of the Secretary of State under the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 (“the 2009 Act”) on the Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland Combined Authority (‘the Combined Authority’).
This Order amends the Export Control Order 2008 (S.I. 2008/3231) (“the 2008 Order”).
