The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) (external link) will be launching a selection exercise in March to recruit 130 Fee-paid Medical Members of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber, Social Security and Child Support.
The seminarThe Judicial Office is organising a pre-application seminar that will take place online via Microsoft Teams on Monday 9 March 2026 from 5pm to 6.15pm.
The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. As well as the JAC, you will also hear from the Lead Tribunal Judge, Chief Medical Member and current Medical Members.
Who should attend?To be eligible to apply, candidates must have unconditional registration with the General Medical Council as a fully registered medical practitioner. A license to practice is not required.
Applications are particularly welcome from under-represented groups (women, ethnic minority candidates, disabled candidates).
