I would like to correct an error in my written statement on 13 April 2026 on the Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs (HLWS1495).

The original statement outlined that the criteria used to select local areas of investigation will be agreed between the Government and the Inquiry. However, as set out in the final Terms of Reference (published on 31 March 2026), the criteria used to select local areas will be published by the Inquiry within three months of the formal setting-up date, and will not require agreement by the Government.
