ADOPT: new funding rounds open

Credit: ADOPT Support Hub

With new funding rounds now open, farmers and growers have another opportunity to apply for support through the Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies (ADOPT) Fund.

Trying something new can involve time, cost and uncertainty. ADOPT helps reduce that risk by funding practical, on-farm trials and demonstrations led by farmers themselves.

The focus is on ideas that can be tested in real farming conditions and shared more widely. Projects help build confidence in new ways of working that could improve productivity, resilience and sustainability.

ADOPT Facilitator Support Grant – Round 9

This grant supports applicants to prepare a strong Full ADOPT Grant application by funding access to an external facilitator.

Facilitators can help applicants develop project ideas, shape proposals, build partnerships and identify the expertise needed to support a project.

Deadline: 8 July 2026

Read the guidance and apply for the Facilitator Support Grant.

Full ADOPT Grant – Round 8

This grant supports collaborative, farmer-led on-farm trials and demonstration projects.

Projects should test innovative practices or technologies in real farming settings and generate practical insights that can be shared across the sector.

Deadline: 29 July 2026

Read the guidance and apply for the Full ADOPT Grant.

Application support

Those considering an application can also access free support through the ADOPT Support Hub, delivered by ADAS, UK Agri-Tech Centre and the Soil Association.

The hub provides guidance on project scope and application development, and can help connect applicants with relevant technical and industry expertise. It also supports knowledge sharing between projects across the programme.

Innovate UK also delivered a webinar when the fund first launched in 2025. It covers the application process, what makes a strong application and what applicants should consider before submitting.

ADOPT is part of the Farming Innovation Programme, delivered in partnership with Innovate UK. Funding rounds are ongoing until November 2026.
