We are proud to highlight Forfusion, which has been recognised with a King’s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunity — one of the UK’s most prestigious business awards.
The Award recognises Forfusion’s work in creating meaningful opportunities for veterans and service leavers, supporting their transition into civilian careers through its Civilian Work Attachment Scheme and wider Armed Forces community initiatives.
Government supportDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, Forfusion accessed support through the UK Government-backed Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS). The business also utilised the COVID-19 Job Retention Scheme (furlough) to support employees whose roles were temporarily affected by the pandemic.
This support provided stability during a period of significant uncertainty, enabling the business to protect jobs, maintain service delivery and continue investing in its future. By navigating the challenges of the pandemic, Forfusion was able to retain its people, continue growing, and expand its community and social value initiatives in the years that followed.
While this support did not directly influence the decision to apply for a King’s Award, it played an important role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the business. This enabled the continued development and expansion of the Civilian Work Attachment Scheme, which formed the basis of the Award application.
Why they appliedForfusion applied for the King’s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunity to recognise and celebrate the work undertaken to create meaningful opportunities for veterans and service leavers.
The Award represents a significant milestone for the business, reinforcing its commitment to supporting individuals as they transition from military to civilian careers. It also recognises the contributions of the team, the support of military partners, and the achievements of the veterans and service leavers who have taken part in the programme.
